It is probably proportional to the scale for amounts that are typically used in desert cultures.

Oh, I see now. It is a dessert spoon with a lot of stuff on it… Yikes! I seriously thought there was such a thing as a desert spoon in cooking- like it is so much dry ingredient that it is like a desert or that there are different measurements in desert cultures. You could probably test it a few times by transferring between the tablespoon and the dessert spoon and gauge what a heap is to the tablespoon and whether a tablespoon constitutes “a heap” on the dessert spoon.

I’d say it’s pretty close.

A level Tablespoon is approx 15 grams, whereas a level dessert spoon is around 10. So one and a half level dessert spoons would be near enough a Tablespoon.
