I’d try not to worry too much. They’re just trying to offend for the sake of it and are most likely tongue in cheek about the whole thing - these bands are more about pushing the envelope for the sake of it than pursuing any agenda. Boys like the extremity of it…

My friends and I went through a shocking Metal phase between about 14-19 and you’d never know it to meet us now. I met a guy on a MA we were both doing who shared a teenage love of a record called ‘Nectrotism: Descanting The Insalubrious’ by a group called Carcass! He has just finished his PhD and I’m a primary school teacher :)
