Just as an FYI…
Your home videos can put you at risk if there is ANY copyrighted material in it. This includes comany logos or even background music such as a marching band…

Where were you?
You can also watch events on Help.com as they happen
Yeah I’ve actually been aware of this for a long time. It’s kind of weird, but you can be sued if you have name brand items in the video, or it even applies to photos.
lol, so next time your on that family outing, you had best remember to remove the coca-cola can from the picnic table before ripping out the cameras.
A good example of this, I’m building a website for my daughter’s high school marching band. In order to post any of the home videos of their performances, I found out I need to obtain a “Synchronization” license to do this legally. So far two of the companies I’ve received responses from have been good to work with, but I’m still looking at between $25 to $250 / license…
The worlds gone mad !!
You have to be kidding me though, by putting said item in the picture are we ourselves not advertising it everytime we upload that picture and or video. Shouldnt they be great full. Lol I guess its not really a big deal I cant remember the last time I had any type of name brand items in a picture other than the articles of clothing I had on. Still good to know this for future reference.

I know I always used to say that the people who wear “GAP” sweatshirts should be paid to advertise for the company.
No because you’re using it in a way that shouldn’t be used probably.
Which country is this for? I’m pretty sure it’s not for every country.

Couldn’t you just blur out logos?
Yeah, you can.

Score.
Gamejunk.. unfortunately it doesn’t matter.. I know of one individual who built a website to help women out with a certain disease. Informative only. She’s now being sued because she had a picture of … get this.. a cheesecake on her website.. a $2,000 suit…
You put a disclaimer on the video before uploading it to the net, you cannot get into any kind of legal trouble.
Say - “Any item owned by another company within this video is not private or (another word I can’t think of) advertisement or something and just say you didn’t want to go through blurring everything. As long as you claim you’re not advertising it or saying even though you bought it it’s yours you will be OK.
HAHA U.S.A! :P I love England! :D
Though we get our behinds taxed the hell out of

Someone should slap the company bringing suit against her.
I absolutely 100% agree with you, junk. They’re gettin a free wrap everytime their product appears in your photos. They should stop their b*tchin’.
H*ll we have logo’s on nearly every item of clothing we wear these days.
Oh well, if I ever get a pic of a brand name item in a pic, I might just have to photo shop it to my own creative logo.
So instead of having (eg.) “EverLast”, I’ll jus change it to EverBlast. etc. lol
Hmmm, I could could have fun with this.

Well in my opinion that is completely ludicrous and the idea of suing someone who is trying to help make a difference is absolutely wrong there is no justifying that.
The people doing such a thing should feel bad for causing that person so much grief when all she was trying to do was assist other people that were suffering. That really frustrates me.
I want to counter sue for free advertising..
Yeah, they should pay a fee everytime their d*m logo appears in a photo, lol

Lol thats a good way of looking at it, my thing is I purchase items to in a way be free with them even though I realize that they where made by another person and sold in a store for my liking… I feel that they give up the rights once I pay for it because technically I own that soda can I bought it same with an article of clothing.
LOL! And you got it in Sterio…. (crap, is that copyrighted????)
But you didn’t make it, it isn’t your brand name on the item… I think that’s what they’re trying to get at.

Yeah but to limit me with what I can do with an item I purchase with my money which fuels there company to stay up and running I should be allowed to do with it as I wish in a certain sense im not saying alter the item or claim it as your own im just saying be free to wear it walk with it take pictures holding the items. Do you have any idea how many people I have met who tried to make funny commercials for pepsi and what not, thoughs people could in turn be sued for making thoughs videos which is absolutely ridiculous. Unfortunantly I realize that the government makes the rules and the companies make the money and we have no say in it and have to conform or we get sued. Thats life though.
That’s your opinion.
Not theirs. All they want is money because your money fuels their greed.
Seems to be a serious lack of common sense in the legal system… that and people trying to make easy money..
I know its my opinion just as the government has there own opinion on how things should be run unfortunately they have more say than you and I. Also I do think companies are greedy, but I do feel for thoughs who dont get to see any of that money really such as the ones who work hard in the factory, but I guess in time things will work themselves out or the world will come crashing down either way ill be sitting on the side pointing and saying I knew this was going to happen lol.
Lol heck no, a bottle of ever clear and some russian vodka… Lol. Maybe a thing of faderade to top it off lol. =) Well **** yeah there will be beer lol and PIZZA! =)
I iz off now, because college has finally finished! :D Ish…
Music is my life you know music is going to be there, what are you into… im into metal/rock/ and many other types though I refuse to listen to certain ones but ill keep thoughs to myself. Lol =)
