Hey to all those people who love to write!
I just started a journalism class this year, and I’m a little stuck. I’m writing an article on “Students Behind the Scenes” it’s about students who have a little something unique about them, like a jock who likes to bake, or the smart girl having webbed toes…I just can’t figure out what to write for my summary lead…can someone please pretend they are me writing this article for just a couple of minutes and give me some ideas for my lead? That would be great!

Where were you?
You can also watch events on Help.com as they happen
Well, in a summary lead, you need to answer the 5 questions. You know the answers to them, so put them together in a news report style sentence.
Yeah, same here. I’m just not sure how to form that into a lead.
hmmm students behind the scenes?
a student is rarely the same person “on stage” as they are behind the scenes.
the jock being a good cook was a funny idea but if you want to go serious you coulld write about the health studies student with a drug addiction or i know plenty of people that are studying spports and fitness that are addicted to steroids… i could go on but its your article… hope i helped in some way:)
try reading here:
Ok, thanks ktmos, in some way you did help. But also I’m trying to find something unique about a few people and then put that into an article. And believe me, I would love to do something on health studies, but this was something assingned to a 10 grade elective class. lol
no prob! dont really know what a 10 grade elective class is but anyways good luck with your work! Slán!
Write about something sooo controversical it makes people heads spin…..Find an idea that is seldom addressed and create a stir, which is what I do on help.com Keep away from in the box ie. safe topics and go for it.. The pen is mightier then the sword… The spoken word can create love and war…. Think outside the box…..
haha, sorry! 10th grade elevtive class (forogt to put the th after the 10) is a class we got to choose over many others to take for 10th grade.
*elective and *forgot…
oh right ya! thats american classes in school ya? duh!
dumb moment for me there!
enjoy your writing! cool beans!
haha! not a dumb moment, just…well yeah. A dumb moment. haha well, thank you very much and have a pleasant day!
write about a cutter who practices on oneself in and is just practicing for the real passion he/she has….keep the suspense up by focusing on the knife…..
While interesting, i’m not quite sure how well that would go over…lol. I live in a smale town and go to an extremely small school, so it would be amazingly easy for rumors to fly. Also, we don’t exactly have cheerleaders…I know right? Depressing.
ask some people what their hidden talents are, or something no1 knows about them. Im sure you’ll come up with some great stuff, it will be more humerous than serious, but it will make for a fun article and it will keep the rest of the students guessing who it is… you could structure your lead around that, such as: we all know her smiling face, but we dont know that she can solve a rubiks cube behind her back. Dont mention names or even fake names, if you do use false names make sure to make a note of it, at either thebeginning or the end of your article so the readers will now… Sounds like a really fun project, hope I helped, Good Luck
go round a school ect filming interviews and then at the end of the day use there quotes and thoughts to help bring up the poenm
