sorry for ur lose but this is what i think it is

People selling things out of the side of a van sounds like:
1. they sole it and are trying to get rid of it.
2. they are really desperate for money and could care less if it worked or not.

1. If it is stolen and you are in possession of it you can be charged with possession of stolen property even though you did not steal it.

2. If these people were desperate enough to sell stuff that doesn’t work, then they will have you pegged as a sucker and will seek you out again to pawn off more stuff.

that way, you can kick their @$$ when you see them again! :)
