The official government site for free credit reports is annualcreditreport.com

Freecreditreport.com is free for 7 days, but you do have to enter in a credit/debit card number, and if you don’t call and cancel it within the 7 days, your card will be charged $14.95/month for every month until you do cancel.

I would go to annualcreditreport.com for your free annual credit report. Many of the other sites have so called free reports but they get you on a credit monitoring service which has a monthly charge.

Pauly99’s right. You can get your free annual credit report, once a year for each of the three CRAs, from annualcreditreport.com. The credit report is free but you’ll have to pay to get your credit score.

This site give step-by-step instructions on how to apply for your free credit reports from annualcreditreport.com:
