depends how u send it. Normally 24hrs or next day. But it will probaly travel more than 30miles in my town if i want to post a letter to go 30 miles away it would travel to sorting office 50 miles away then travel 20 miles back towards me again to get delivered but this happens over nite…… and its delivered b4 12.

But that is in northern Ireland

In the U.S., the postal system has various distribution centers based on your fove digit zipcode, and more recently, sometimes, your zip+4. For instance, if the originator of a letter lived in say 62801, Centralia, Illinois, and he was delivering a letter to Olney, IL. a distance of about 50 miles, it would not go directly there… the first three digits of the zip code determine where the packages go… In this case, Effingham, IL, which is actually further north than both of them would be the midpoint for delivery, and then the next morning, another truck would deliver from there to Olney… It would THEN be sorted, and probably sent out with the carriers the next day.

So… a space of 50 miles could actually take up to three days.
