check in your burning software to see if you’re finalizing the disc.

there are certain settings which allow it to be played on other computers, or on your computer only.
Maybe setting it back to default?

what program do you use to burn?

ok, I’ll be on for a bit. did you plan on downloading it now? I can walk you through it

you’ll find it’s similar to iTunes but a LOT smaller and doesn’t take control of your computer.
I use it to play all my music too.

when you go through the burn wizard, and get to the “burn settings” page

do you have the following settings:

action: burn
burn speed: 48 times
write method: track-at-once
finalization: finalize

?

browsing through Windows Media Player settings too.

in Options, under the “rip music” tab, what do you have for the Rip settings, format?

the choices are:
Windows Media Audio
Windows Media Audio Pro
Windows Media Audio (variable bit rate)
Windows Media Audio Lossless
mp3
wav (Lossless)
