In my opinion the best love songs are always blue (depressing) but not always blues. My favorite genres are English & Scottish folk and heavy metal. Like Snar said they can be found in every genre but I personally can’t stand an upbeat ‘everything is/always will be perfect’ pop love song - pass me the vomit bucket.
