life help: MY husband had a bad stroke he cant walk or talk, he cries all the time. - Help.com

Editors:

MY husband had a bad stroke he cant walk or talk, he cries all the time.

We lost our home and after 3 months of living in a motel we moved to a trailer, now we don’t have any heat, it cost 700$ to install a propane heater. On the day after I moved into the trailer my car got reposessed, now I have no way to the doctors n my husband needs physical therapy and needs to see the doc, we are 30 minutes away from the city. I cant even apply at social services cause I don’t have a way to get there. To top it off I don’t even have a washer r dryer, I hand wash everything. I have my own illnesses too and am on meds. My husband uses depends diapers, I cant afford to buy ,PLEASE CAN SOMEONE HELP, I CANT DO THIS ALONE. WE USE TO BE HARD WORKERS AND NOW WE HAVE NOTHING PLEASE HELP. Bessie ( My name is Roselee I put this listing on my p.c. for my friends) if you like to help please send me an email at ( (email removed)) and I will give you there phone number thanks Rose

I’ll help, by giving you some advice/common sense.

if he needs to go to the hospital so badly call 9-1-1…thats what ambulances are for.
its not that hard, i dont see why you need to publicize it on the internet… and i’m sure you have family that can, and will help.

Sell the computer!
Get him to chop some fire wood, pretty soon, he will not need the therapy.
People have lived over 1900 years without the items that you speak of including social services.
Be like the indian, be like the budda

If this is for real. Then I am sorry to hear about their predicament. People can be cruel, true. It’s easy when you don’t have to scratch the dirt, to look down on others. But um, have they tried to contact some charities? They need to contact as many social organizations as possible….

There should be state or government agencies that can help your friends much more than we can. We get hundreds of pleas for money on a daily basis, that’s perhaps the reason for the cynicism. We have no funds to give. We give advice. That is all. I will pray for you and your friends. That’s all I can offer.

Roselee, I apologize for the negative skeptic replies from my fellow users. we have many who post falsley. Im glad you stayed with us, good for you. Since your in such a bad spot maybe try the red cross, salvation army and ask a application be sent to your home from social services and other local agencies.(sorry i didnt think of that b4. and keep in touch here to update us and get more suggestions, Im sure more will be along.Oh, one suggestion- maybe use diapers (for babies)large of course, they are a lot cheaper , here anyway. wear your clothes for 2 days instead of 1 if you can too. I will be back to check on you so if you need any other tips, i know how to pinch them pennies and make the most out of very little. OH, what about relatives and old friends, get out your address book and start calling, they may need you too.

Go to an Episcopal church and ask the priest for assistance and help with the social agencies. This is a great place to start!

If she can’t care for her husband because he has special needs but would be accepted into assisted care, out of kindness that might be the best place for him to be. As far as the short term, this would at least assure that he’d have his physical therapy, food, heat, clean clothes and depends. These programs are made FOR PEOPLE WHO NEED THEM, and in her situation she needs it.

People, be kind, even the poorest people can have occasional access to a computer.
