Well I really don’t know how to begin.

First the facts. I am 55, I have Coronary Artery Disease 3 stents, Im unfortunantly wearing a Cath bag since Oct 18-08 until my Prostate surgery in Nov.-08. But other than that Im ok. but here’s been my problem my whole Life. Growing up in Poverty and having been raised by Parents with no education, never learning to read, or drive, and a father who not only was a ex-con but a violent man when drinking and he was always drinking. I learned to shy away from society. Im not out going at all I tend to always be alone. There was a time in my early years I met a girl married had a child and then divorced. It was applicable. My daughter is full grown and in College. I see her maybe once a year. Thank God she inherited her mothers outwardness, I feel my daughter is very well adjusted. Now why im righting. Since my heart disease I lost what little i had. I never have owned a home, always living from room to rooms. Now Im in Public Housing. Its ok and there is a roof over my head, BUT Ive always wanted a place of my own, a place that when I die I will have something to leave my child. Being born in a Welfare Project is one thing but I really don’t want to die in one. I want to at least think I was able to evolve enough to have called something mine. Im looking for some thing really small. I get a Disability check once a month so I feel i could afford a small house payment and Utility bill. So does anyone know of a small place liviable, in my better years I worked construction so I not afraid of hard work. Thanks Bob

hi,jana here,i understand your’ situation, not sure how to help, but i’ll give it my best shot.i too am on disability,i used to have a house.now i’m in a low income apartment.in nebraska, they have a thing through hud.i checked on it myself.you call them, ask about, their project, about putting a down payment on a house.they will tell you they can,but they will say that you have to get a loan, for a house, and then they, will put the down payment towards the loan.the will also, help fix up the house,if needed.i’m sure nebraska can’t be the only state that does this.also,i have found,if you look in the newspaper, for people who are trying themselves to sell their home, call, ask if they would consider a rent to buy contract.look at homes in your town, that you notice have been up for sell by owner, they may take a rent to buy offer.if they don’t,watch to see how long the for sale by owner sign is up,contact them back after they’ve try for a while.they may be willing to talk about, rent to own then.the housing crisis is every where.watch your paper, some of the most beutiful houses are being sold for, just tax’s,overdue by the previos owner.please though,i want you to know this,no matter what.what ones true gift that they can leave behind is,memories, love, and the joy of knowing you are your childs, dad…memories, last a lifetime, possesions, well they are just that, but what a child of any age really wants,is to know they were and are loved.hope this has helped.a person shouldn’t be judged for what they have ,but who they are.my heart is with you,and i will say a prayer for you.jana
