Beautiful, Silver. I completely agree. I pray I fellow people can see past their false hate and come to an enlightened truth.

I’m not really religious but spiritual enough that I hope that love will win over hatred in all things. That’s about all you’ll get outta me :)

Oh yea, I read about the latest killing spree eventually ending in Obama’s killing on news today too. I do hope and pray people stop these attempts, I mean I get it that they dont like him but they could atleast tolerate him, plus its not like any of these attempts are gonna work anyways. But still I agree with you and pray with you too.

God’s people need to go out and vote what you just said is the biggest cop out I’ve ever heard and I’m a believer also. Using God as an excuse not to vote is very wrong I would be ashamed to have posted a reply such as this. Shame on you!

No where in the New Testament do we have instruction to help direct earthly governments. It always refers to governments in third person (ie. them, they, etc.). However, Jesus did advocate paying taxes and other places we are told to pray for them. I believe we also need to obey them as long as it does not conflict with God’s Word.

I understand and I appologize for being rude to you. I believe as Christians we are obligated to get out and vote and a great example is that we have a porposition on the ballot which is either for or against gay marraige in our state as believers we are banning together and telling our other Christian friends to make sure they are registered and to vote. Our church is talking about it and we had voter registration tables outside the church as well. I strongly beleive God wants us to get the word out and one of the biggest ways is to vote at an election.

We are light. and salt. and both are to be used. for good. and who is in office, really… really matters.. if one is going to live in this country. and have any hope at happiness…and peace, and well being. we have given up too much of our authority, already, and that is why we are in the mess we are in. If we, the salt of the earth.. had been involved…. and doing our job… we would see to it, that the government was run right. we would demand it. it is our right and our responsibility.

And it is also our responsibiltiy to pray and make sure things go smoothly… we are accountable. whether we want to be or not.

Well said I struggle sometimes as a Christian when I react to folks especially when someone says they would rather just pray then go and vote and make their voice be heard. One thing that really just grates me is when someone elects not to vote and when its a believer it just adds salt to the wound so to speak. And then quote a verse from scripture to back up their reasoning then grossly misinterpret that scripture I just have to stop count to 10 and pray. I was at diiner last night with some family and I said how utterly dismayed I was that we have degraded as a society to the point that we have to vote for the definition of marraige, that we have the right to murder innocent lives in the womb and that we reject God in the classroom in our seats of government and in general It makes you wonder why Jesus hasn’t returned already. The only hope any of us has is a live with Him forever. This world is not my home!!!

I’ve seen many people here leave in an outrage and come back within the next 5-7 days

If it were me I would just leave and not say anything in case my urge comes
