my mini daschund is just starting her heat cycle and

I am just wondering if there is something that I can get either from my vet or pet store to stop the heat cycle? I am not interested in breeding her right now but possibly in a year or so. Thanks so much

My sister has just bought some pills from the vet for her dog. It’s kind of like the contraceptive pill for dogs. It stops the bleeding and everything. You give them one pill, but it has to be given just before the cycle is due to start. The vet will go through with you and explain how it works and when you give it to them. I believe it’s expensive.

Is there any type of doggie ritalin? My chocolate lab really needs it but I’m afraid a vet would laugh me out of the room. We give it to our kids, why not our pets?

An anti depressant? Wow I didn’t know dogs got depressed… is it a chew toy or something? ;) I guess they would get sad without their person or if another dog in the family died… my golden retriever died a few years back and my little lhasa apso was really sad for a while and would look for her… I miss those guys.

My sis got them for her dog, because it was having seperation anxiety.
