Family help: I have a Sims 2 problem. - Help.com

I have a Sims 2 problem.

I started the game and everything was fine except in one of the neighbourhoods where all the Lots have disappeared and the families are in the family bin. I guess I can’t do nothing to get the Lots back but at least I’d like to know why this happened so I can prevent it from happening again. Any help is appreciated.

I’m not familiar with Sims 2, but I imagine the information about Lots etc is stores in /Documents & Settings/ usr name>/Application data/ the sims, sims 2 or something>/

maybe you could try backing the files up before changing anything, just in case they are recoverable.

No, the Lots are nowhere to be found and yes I should make back ups more often (I have one but it’s older than the last expansion), but I was interested in knowing what’s the problem so that does not happens again.
