No! Sometimes opposites atract! If you both like the same type of music, it also helps.

Potentially. I guess it depends on how strongly one would feel towards the others’ tastes. If somebody is really in love with rap and totally loathes country, and the other one feels opposite, it could cause a lot of fighting in say, the car…

hmmm i would have to say that it depends. while we were dating, me and my ex listened to some of the same music and some different. for example, i typically listen to heavy metal and hard rock and she typically listens to rock and alternative, but i will listen to bands like Hit The Lights or The Morning Light and she’ll listen to bands like Slipknot or Seether. our tastes just kinda grew on each other because we gave each other’s music a chance. my advice is to give everyone’s music a try and don’t immediately dislike it for its genre. i have been known to listen to a country song every now and then. so just try new things.

eh sorta. i once dated a guy who was really into these weird alternative songs, stuff that’s just plain irritating. we agreed to not listen to the radio in the car.

another guy i didn’t date but was close friends with is into really heavy metal songs (ya know, where they scream the whole time) and we didn’t listen to anything either.

i know my parents dont share the same tastes in music and theyre fine.

Just listen to elevator music when you’re with your girlfriend!

Yea, it definitely depends on the situation. There’s music that my girlfriend loves but I dislike, but we’ve definitely learned how to find a common ground with music. Sometimes you have to compromise to listen to whatever they feel like that day.

I don’t know, I just thought the title was interesting.
