Person help: I want a new car. - Help.com

I want a new car.

I have always had a truck/suv (I’m 19) but with gas prices I think I need to down grade to a car. But I have specific things I want in a car.

It MUST be a convertible (because in “regular” cars i feel claustrophobic)

I want something more than a 2 seater (because I am in college I want more than 1 person to be able to ride with me)

I like the 350z (but its a 2 seater)

Does anyone know of a convertible car similar to the 350z with a backseat?

My budget would be anything less than 25k (give or take a few thousand). But I want to spend as less as possible. But if the car is worth it I am willing to pay a little more. (By the way I do not want a “new” car because their value depreciates too much as soon as you drive them off the lot.

Go to some place like CARMAX, and see what the pricing looks like on there.

Honestly most new cars use stupid amounts of gas, even ones considered ‘gas efficient’. I guess you’re not too concerned about your insurance going up or down as you’re looking for something that would be classified as a ’sports car’ and you’re under 25. Going from a SUV to sports type car doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll be able to find something that uses less gas. It’s sort of something, I’d suggest thinking about.

At least at carmax you could consider trading in your old car to lower your loan amount…

I’ve looked around but haven’t really been able to find something really (i have been to more than 20 dealerships). That is why i posted on here so people can give me specific types of cars they have seen.

No i am not concerned about insurance going up because I will just be added to my parents plan and on a mustang gt convertible my payment would be 145/month.

Yeah, I know that they will still use a lot of gas but currently I get maybe 10-12 mpg and it takes nearly $60-$70 to fill up (i go through about 2 tanks a week).

So although sports cars does not get great gas mileage, i think it will be better than what I have now….

Newest model Mustang GT 17/26 mpg.
It also all depends on how you drive.
