This Tuesday, don’t forget about the other people you’re voting for!

With all the hullabaloo surrounding McCain versus Obama–as with every election year–it remains vitally important to remember to research your Senator, Congress-person, and others, as they are truly the ones through whom your voice is heard. Sure, voting for the President is important, but what it really boils down to is who is standing up for your rights in your state. A government like ours isn’t run by one man alone; it is run by the millions of citizens who call it their home. America is still a democracy, albeit a flawed one, and it’s ultimately the voice of the people who have a say in what happens overall.

So get out there and vote November 4th, but don’t forget the individuals who are standing up for YOU!

Very, very true! There needs to be a big change in congress if this country really wants to improve. Don’t just check whoever’s name you recognize, look into the issues they stand for.

Give me a break. Regardless of which political party is in power, Congress will still be corrupt, inept, and rotten to the core. The only “change” is going to be the sum total of the money in your pocket after we pay for bailouts for political contributors and other assorted cronies and hacks. And to the original poster, if you can show me a politician who will “stand up for me” I’ll happily vote for him or her. By the way, I’m not a lobbyist, so finding that politician will prove to be a challenge.

I’m just not voting for Elizabeth Dole.
