I went to the used book store yesterday, and picked up several books on everything from the occult to politics.

I learned about 100 new and interesting facts.

This is something we should all try to do.

For instance, did you know that a Daddy Long Legs spider is not a spider at all, but a member of the same classification as scorpions, and that Daddy Long Legs have 2 eyes, one on the front of its body, the other on the rear?

or, How the US electorial college really works, and why the popular vote can end up being meaningless? You don’t actually vote for a presidential candidate, but for a rep to cast a vote. And how long this has been in effect in the USA.

Lots of crazy cool stuff out there, and its not all in WIKI.

That’s cool. I still don’t know how the electoral college works. I think I’ll follow your lead and educate myself.

sorry, too early in the morning for me. And you would not believe how many people actually ask that and really mean it.

I wonder how many people look at these posts and decide there are too many words to bother reading?

I think quite a few do that but meh, to each his own :)

Used book stores are great, I also have friends that I pass along books with. Mind you we are more into fiction, provides a nice escape from reality lol.

I think we could all learn numerous new things in a day, if we are open to it. There’s much to be learned in life itself. That’s my deep thought for this morning!

Too many people, sadly.

I love to pick up random facts. The other day I was reading a Jodi Picoult book and found out that a group of Ravens is called an unkindness.

People who don’t read books I should imagine.

which is why many posts get ignored.

and i did not know that about grand daddy long leg spiders. i see a lot of them around my garage door around this time. matter of fact, i could probably find several right now if i wanted. i suppose we learn something new everyday.

and now the stress of studying and homework has infiltrated my system, so i need to get going before i fall into oblivion.

Sadly I do that sometimes(dont kill me!)… Mostly I just read the first paragraph and if it seems boring I just stop and go on doing something else :P
So I guess it’s true when they say that the first impression is the most important.
