My desktop wallpaper won’t show animated wallpapers.

I right click to save as and when I put them on the desktop they won’t flash or move. They are still. Is there a setting or something I need to change? Also, my computer clicks all the time. I know there is a setting to stop this, but I am computer illiterate and don’t know how to stop this. Thanks for any help.

then it is possible you do not have the ‘active desktop’ enabled. You should enable that at the config screen with the desktop settings.
If it still doesn’t work, see what kind of extension it is. XP doesn’t just support anything.

Desktop wallpapers cannot be animated. They have to be still. That’s why they’re a “wallpaper”. The purpose of wallpapers is that they don’t move.

they can actually. It has been possible since Windows 98. (an years before that on linux and solaris) You can even have active weblinks as a backround.
