I need help.

I live in Louisiana. I am wanting to find out about financial aid. I have limited access to a vehicle and I don’t live with either of my parents. I am a dependent. I live with my brother and I depend on his income. Everyone I’ve talked to about financial aid need info on my parent’s incomes, but I don’t depend on them so their income has nothing to do with me, right?

did you look here?: http://www.dss.louisiana.gov/departme…

I don’t know if it will help you.

I would think you would have to give your brother’s income to the state. Why don’t you give them a call?

If someone still declares you on their income taxes as a dependent… you would have to provide their income information to government sponsored financial aid. And of course something like that is easily cross referenced.

Unfortunantly, I think that is the case until you are 21 and then you can apply without them.
