This is a big decision…

Well not really, but I’m still a bit nervous!
I have blonde hair and I want to dye it brown, but I’ve never dyed my hair before and I’m afraid it will go wrong and turn red or something!
Also I’ve heard that once you dye your hair it’s never quite the same color once the dye wears out! I’m really confused could somebody please tell anything I need to know about dying hair?
I only want to use washout dye…so nothing permanent though…

I shaved my head. I turned out it looked great. I was really nervous before. If you don’t like the colour then dye it back. If you want to know about dying your hair then ask the hairdresser.

Don’t use the semi-permanent dies. Believe me, they don’t work. I have always been one for natural colour. I have died my hair in the past and it really damaged it. But it all depends on your hair. If it’s your first time dying your hair, get it done at a hairdresser’s, don’t do it yourself. Some people’s hair take colour differently. My hair pulls red, and I once tried to die it black and it turned green. lol. Anyways I’m not trying to discourage you. I’m just saying that whatever you want to do to your hair, just ask a hairdresser first. I’m sure it will turn out fine. You might be able to get away with a semi-permanent, and it shouldn’t damage your hair to much, but you might not get the results you’re hoping for. It depends on your haird type, again.

It’s a help site for all problems, big or small. You didn’t have to post. And you didn’t really need to be rude.

If you decide to change your natural hair color, you will always have to keep up the maintenance on it. Your light roots will always need to be done usually every 6-8weeks. This can be costly. I always thought the best looking color is the one you are born with. Hair extensions, and the two- toned look ,are much in fashion now. Why not abandon the all over color, and just pick up some dark colored hair extensions. This would be a lot cheaper, and you will be saving your hair from a lot of processed damage. Unless you can afford to keep the up keep on it, I seriously would’t do it. Just something you should consider :)

It’s ok. It wasn’t really that rude. And I do understand your reasoning behind that statement. =)

If your very blond there is a chance a darker colour will fade and look pink, especially wash out ones they may leave a stain, seek a hairdressers advice if this is such an important decision, yes you can change the colour back but at the cost of a lot of damage to your hair. My mum was a hair dresser and used to tell me that a girls hair is her crowning glory and Cat Deeley says you would spend a fortune on a dress you only wear once, you wear your hair everyday so why not invest in it, and I say messy hair will ruin any outfit no matter how carefully chosen so don’t just do it yourself seek professional help.
