I downloaded the above link, very helpful thankyou.

However, when i coverted my videos to .amv and tried to watch them on my mp3/mp4 player, the videos where not stretch to the whole screen size, it was like scaled down to the centre of the screen and made it hard to view. The other .amv videos that i found on the disk i got with the mp3 player did play and went in full screen on the mp3 player.

The size of my mp4 players screen is 2″, is it becasuse this converter doesn’t convert to that resolution, or because im missing somthing out

Once you select the input file, click on the settings button in the “Output info” area. Under select screen width and height choose “160×120″. I think that should be the correct size for your player.

You are correct on this repliy, but the convertor on my cd sent with the mp4 only has up to 128×96 max on it thats why the pictuer is so small on screen. Do you know where on the internet I can down load a free convertor with 160×120 as you are correct on the size I need. Thank you for your repliy.

thanx mpais ………. but i got a problem ………….. i converted a video into the PC successfully and i could watch it some seconds then a message appears on my mp4 player …… “format error” …….. I guess the problem is because i got no directx 9.0 installed ……………but i could convert and watch the files on the PC with the AMV player with no problems…….
well ….. I guess the problem could be with FAT also……. because there is some reference about that in the user manual……………. but as i said before ……….. I guess

I don’t think it’s a problem with FAT or DirectX.

Anyway, regarding your problem, try this. Delete all the files from your player (mp3, amv, jpeg… whatever). Then upload your amv file (the one which was working fine on your PC) to your player and try it out.

Let me know if this works/does not work and I should be able to help you further. Also, what’s the capacity of your MP4 player?

please help! i am having the same problem as rasdwacz. when i play amv files it comes up with a format error. no problem (touch wood) with mp3 files. i did a format disk and put everything on again. worked fine the 1st day and then 2nd day said format error for amv files. help pleeeeease.

The maximum size it can record videos is at 128*96 Those who require 160*120 video size need the version 4.0 but unfortunately I don’t have that one.

Anyone who has version 4.0 please upload it coz it looks like a lot of people are looking for the AMV Converter.

What is the memory size of you MP4 player. Please post that here. Then go to the “MP3Player Disk Tool” (installed along with your AMV Converter. Click on the Partition Tab, and check what is the maximum size the partition can go to. Post this size on here as well.

I’ve tried amvconverter v4.03
but it doesn’t make an 160×120 size movie if we choice 160×120 in movie size options, it makes an 176×128 movie. so it cant be played in mp4 player 1′8″ screen.

at this moment, I’m using amvconverter v3.5 with some modification on amvtransform.ini to get 160×120 size movie.
if any of you gays knows how to make real 160×120 size movie with amvconverter v4, please let me know

mpai: thanks for helping. My mp3 player is supposedly 4GB (i know this may not necessarily be the case but it shows 3.98GB on my pc). Under the Partition tab there is the following info:
- Partitiion Disk Total Capacity: 1951MB
- Setting encrypted disk capacity: 2MB

Another request for help:

i installed the amv convert tool from the disk that came with my mp4 player. norton found a virus so i tried to uninstall but coudn’t - “fatal error”. i deleted the 3.68 folder in program files but now i can’t install another version of the convert tool b/c it keeps saying that a previous version is installed. what can i do?? Please help. Thanks.

Melbgal:
Like most MP4 Players (including mine) your chip has been hacked to show double the capacity. So in actual your MP4 Players is 2GB.

Any file saved on the player after the 1951MB limit will not play. Although the name will show up when you browse through the player, the file isn’t actually saved and will give an error while playing.

GON & Melbgal:
I had the same problem. However, I installed the player through Total Uninstall, which allows you to remove everything even to the registry entry.

Since you haven’t done that I can’t really think of any other way you can solve your problem aside from clearing reformating your drive.

I’ll check if I can find any other way to solve your problem.

Melbgal: I don’t know of any other converter as yet. Seeing how popular MP4 players have become I’m surprised no one has developed another converter by now.

Did you try installing v4.03 That might get installed.

ryoga1: Not come across that problem as yet. I wish mympxplayer.com was working coz I’m sure they’d be able to help you out.

Melbgal & GON:
Try this. Go to the “Run” option on the start menu and type
“regedit” and press “OK”. Not dig down to the following key:
“HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall” find the folder called “MP4 Player Utilities” (or similar) and delete it by “right-clicking” and deleting.

If the folder is in some other name and you are not sure it is the one please post the name here and check with me. Don’t simply delete anything coz it could cause more problems.

Hi everyone iv had a Mp3/Mp4 player for quite a while and are having some problems converting some of my mpegs i have which are around 25-50 Mb,I start converting then around 3% or so freeze and stop i have to clsoe the program by taskmanager very annoying. I installed Mp3 utilities 3.67 and my Antivirus software find a virus in MSI file, but I still can use it to convert other video code into AMV,
Now, I can’t uninstall v3.67 and replace with v3.68 (max size convert is 128 * 128), Win XP shows a notice: there is a problem with this windows installer package. a program required for this install to complete could not be run. contact your support personnel or package vendor. Fatal error during installation
When I try to install v3.68, win xp show : there is another version on this PC, and I have to uninstall the older version.

Hey mpai: thanks for the suggestion but too late. don’t know how but the virus was unleashed and wreaked havoc on my computer. i thought it would be gone as i had deleted the mp3 utilities folder and emptied recylce bin. anyway, ended up having to reinstall windows but at least i didn’t lose any data. just annoyed that norton which i have been buying for years didn’t pick it up but the free antivirus software avast4 did.

anyone who have mp4 player with 1,8″ screen, please do not use amvconverter v.4.
it makes 176×128 movie (as shown in movie option) not 160×120 movie that fit with 1,8″ screen.
if you want to make fullscreen movie in 1,8″ screen, you have to use amvconverter v3.35 with some modification:
change amvtransform.ini:
VIDEOWH=2———>(default=3)
VIDEOFRAME=2——>(default=3)
