I feel overvalued!

I know that doesn’t seem like a bad thing… many people feel undervalued.

I just started a job where I was known before I arrived… basically, I was built-up. Now, I feel like the people there expect more from me than I have… they think I’m better than I really am. I feel like I’m constantly at battle with myself… or my pseudo-self. I don’t know what to do though. I’m tired of feeling like the only place I can go is down in these people’s eyes… I can only fall off the pedestal. Any advice or similar experiences?

Be kind to everyone. That way they will still like you even if your performance is quite what was expected.
