become friends with him but when i talk to him he will be nice and talk back but i think maybe the only reason he is talking to me is because he does not want to be mean . and i dont want the whole school knowing that i like him

yes you should keep talking to him i went through the same thing last year i like this guy alot but wasnt sure if he liked me and i also didnt want the whole school knowing about it just incase it didnt work out but my friends forced me to tell him so i did turns out he liked me back! so mabye you should give it a try u’ll never know until then

You could just ask the guy how he really feels and make sure you do it in a way that he feels comfortable being honest with you. Black and white of it is that if he doesn’t like you, why waste your time looking like a dum dum?
