computer help: ok im getting really mad.. - Help.com

ok im getting really mad..

on tuesday my computer completely messed up it wouldnt even start, so long story short dell people told my my hard drive ‘had gone bad’ so they sent me a new one..

It was just like new, nothing I had on it was on it anymore witch I was okay with..

well iv been noticeing that the color of like pictures and stuff isnt has good as it once was..like now ‘blacks’ are more of a gray, and ‘whites’ over power almost every color. Its not all that ‘dramatic’ but it is noticeable and im about to get really mad..

I dont recommend a dell inspiron 1521 with windows vista to ANYONE..
I havent had it a year and Iv allready had to have like 2 parts changed. The disk drive, and now hard drive.. it sucks.. or atleast if u do get one MAKE SURE you have a whole lot of warrenty!!!

A hard drive would not cause the color to be bad.

It sounds like both your video card and the hard drive went bad at the same time; and that’s a bit odd.

Do you use a surge protector?

The other thing could be that the video drivers set up on the new hardrive where not set properly. you should try to reset it.

If the brightness is adjusted too high for that monitor, it will leave the picture looking like it has a whitish tinge. Also increasing the contrast a little will add some depth to images.

There should be a control panel or buttons on the front of your monitor to adjust these settings.
