Did I lose the right to my stocks?

I am 19 years old and in college. When I was younger, my grandparents would by stocks for me for my birthday. Because of family in-fighting, I am no longer in touch with them. I know the stocks were bought in my name with my father listed as the guardian. Is there any way for me to recover the stocks or are they gone forever?
