Is it bad to have a period every 15 days?

It use to be normal but ever since september its been coming on really early and im starting to get really scared. My mom doesnt have health insurance but she is making a doctor appointment. It hurts me because i know its probably going to be very expensive. Why the hell does this have to happen now? Why? Im 20 a virgin and im not all that stressed. This is actually the longest ive gone with out being stressed about everything. Im so scared about what could be wrong…

I’m not sure what could be wrong, but I definitly know you need to go to the doctor and get checked out asap.

I found this on a website, hope it helps a little.

Abnormal Uterine Bleeding
Abnormal bleeding has a number of definitions, the simplest of which is, “all bleeding that is not normal.” Abnormal bleeding includes:

Too frequent periods (more often than every 26 days).
Heavy periods (with passage of large, egg-sized clots).
Any bleeding at the wrong time, including spotting or pink-tinged vaginal discharge
Any bleeding lasting longer than 7 days.
Extremely light periods or no periods at all

**
Excluding pregnancy, there are really only three reasons for abnormal uterine bleeding:

Mechanical Problems
Hormonal Problems
Malignancy

No problem. :)
Also, if you go to that website I listed, it goes into detail about the three things it is most likely caused by.

And just a heads up — when you go to the doctor, they’re probably going to do all sorts of tests. Blood tests, pap smear, pregnancy test, thyroid test, etc. They’re probably also going to try putting you on some type of birth control to try and regulate your cycles.

Yea now i feel worse but thanks. I just know all those different procedures are going to cost a arm and a leg… And i dont want to go through all of that at all

Im in college and i live off campus so i use to take the bus to class. Now i walk instead because i felt like i was being lazy. But its not like i was doing any extreme sport or exercising… I did go to the gym almost everyday but i dont think i worked too hard to cause irregularity. I dont know what to think but i do know im a little scared. Im trying to take my mind off of it because i dont want to add more problems.

If I work out even 3 times a week I get mine earlier. So that could be it. Try backing off on the exercise a little and see if that helps. I had to stop exercising almost all together for my body to settle down. Then I eased back into it much more slowly.

You were totally regular before? Some girls just naturally have shorter cycles.

My friends thought i was crazy for walking back and forth to the gym instead of taking the bus. I would walk to the gym exercise then walk back home almost everyday. I use to do it last yr but i took a semester off this summer and became really lazy. I gained weight more than what i thought. This yr i started back exercising every week. So that could be it. Plus my friends kept asking me if i was losing weight but i didnt notice it and still dont. So that is a possibility. Actually i hope it is. I havent been to the gym this week because my period keeps coming on and off. I tried to start back up again but my darn period decided it wanted to come back on. So i didnt go. Now i just walk back and forth to campus to get some exercise.

Hey, don’t stress too much, I’m sure it’s nothing major. It’s not unusual for our monthly rhythm to go a bit wacky sometimes and two months is nothing in the time line for hormonal or body changes to balance out. Sometimes it just happens for no logical reason.

Don’t knock off the exercise, that can only be good for you (unless you become an obsessed fanatic). Our bodies are made to move, and walking is one of nicest things we can do for our bodies so keep it up.

I hope things go well at the Drs for you. They might just do a few blood tests for starters, nothing too major. Read up what you can though, the internet it great for education.

Sorry hun. :(
I honestly didn’t intend to make you feel worse ..I just figured if you actually knew what they were going to do once you got there, it wouldn’t be as scary. For me personally, I like to know beforehand what kind of tests they plan to do before I get there. I love surprises, but not at the doctors office, Lol.
It could be something really normal or minor like Kerry said, but with things like that, you just want to be safe. :)

Also, girls who are underweight (not saying she is — suggestion this “just in case”) usually stop having menstrual periods, not have them more frequently.

Im trying not to stress about it but every time it comes on the more frighten i become.

Im not going to stop walking and i will start back going to the gym on sun (i hope).

I hope they go well too and i did look up stuff ever since it came on early the third time. But i found more informative sites this time around. This one was good,

Oh its ok its just one of those when its hard to hear the truth. I rather be surprised i think because then i wouldnt be imagining how all those things will feel because we usually image the worse. Then come to find out they are not what we expected at all. Yea better safe than sorry

Oh i forgot to mention one thing, my period is very abnormal right now. Last night it was spotting now its not even a red color rather brownish and still very light. I also have a cold that became worse this morning. I can tell this is going to a long day… But i will persevere

Hey, don’t discount what I said! My personal experience is that I start early if I work out too much. I started having mine, like every 2 weeks practically all the time! I really did have to back right off and start again, much more slowly.

Our bodies are made to be taken care of. Different people respond differently to too much exercise, too fast. Some girls stop having a period. But I get mine early. I’m sure I’m not the only one this has happened to.

Oh i wont. I mean i wasnt feeling tired or anything so i thought my body could handle it. Or maybe i was and ignored it thinking my body suppose to feel like that. To be honest it did start acting up once i started exercising on a regular basis… But i never put to and to together. Lets just pray that this is what is causing my abnormality
