ARGH, NOT AGAIN!
Sometimes—often, in fact—when I am editing a response that I plan to post, everything I’ve written will suddenly disappear from the screen. It’s very frustrating—especially when I’ve carefully crafted an answer and am within a few keystrokes of pressing send. Does anyone know why this happens? Does anyone know if there’s a way to get the text back?

Thanks, I’ll fiddle with those and see what happens.
Thanks. I’m post-it noting all these suggestions to my computer screen to be used in desperate moments. I’ll let you know if anything works!

My Dad often on accident deletes his entire message in emails without knowing it. If he goes to capitalize the letter A he sometimes hits Ctrl-A instead of Shift-A and it highlights his entire message…when he continues typing without noticing what he’s done, he types over what is highlighted and erases his entire message.
Maybe that’s it…
No, not that. I most likely am hitting SOMETHING wrong, but I’m not highlighting and deleting. Been using word programs for 25 years now!
Thanks for checking, though. You never know.
Maybe it’s a little man inside your computer playing stupid games with you :)
I’ve had my alarm clock do that to me on occasion (Dane Cook)
LOL, maybe it’s a little man inside my computer who DISAGREES with what I’m posting. I can see him in there now, saying, “Sorry, Theresape, you’re WRONG!” and then pulling the plug! ; - )
Haha, that would be funny. But very inconvenient for you!

Yeah, but it might protect me from myself. Like, just now, I really pisxxd off someone named Urine. Now there’s an irony there.
But, just think, if the little man were just good at pulling his switch at the right moments, I’d never offend anyone.
Ha!

Ah, that was you in there! See, and you thought you wouldn’t get caught, Marie! LOL—T.
try pressing the buttons “ctrl z” the same time (its a short cut for undo)
Thanks, I’ll try that next time.
The same thing happens to me; it’s totally aggravating. I’ve just learned not to go to preview. I just edit the best I can while composing, and then go directly to send. Sorry I can’t be more helpful; I’m not very techno-savvy.
Another trick is when you are going to be posting a lengthy reply, create it in Word or whatever WP you use, and then copy and paste into the box. This allows you to save a copy and also gives you a back-up if the original attempt to post doesn’t work.
Do you by chance work on a laptop? My touchpad mouse goes really wonky sometimes and seems to act on its own accord, jumping the cursor to other areas, etc. This might be part of your issue if you work on a lappy.
Anyway, best of luck!
I find at peak times, around 7:00 and beyond that my long messages take a long time to post. It’s seems that the browser is awaiting it’s turn or something like that. I have my messages dissapear but if I wait a minute or two they are finally posted. I have only lost 2 messages though.
Thanks a lot theserape for giving me comment about my ex girlfriend, but do you think 4 months later, when I go back to Hong kong, I should imply my feeling to her, or just completely let her be with her boyfriend, let she to prove to herself she made a wrong deciscion of being with her ex again, and let her discover how match we are on things such as our personality?? Please answer me
Well someone already suggested it i think, but i’ve found that writing and editting posts, replys, ect. is better to do in Word or any other word processor works best along with saving the document a lot in the process. it’s saved me a lot of work quite a few times, that way if something, or your “little man”, is acting wonky, your not as put out.

In my opinion its the best and safe solution.
Yeah definitely agree with the solution above. A very simple way to ensure your not left disappointed is…whatever you write. Put your cursor all over it and copy it by pressing CTRL + C
Then should the same happen again you can just do a new post and press CTRL + V to paste it in.
