Learning about and incorporating a healthy diet, sleep, exercise routine and meditation into my daily routine. I started out by taking a class in stress reduction and meditation, read up on what foods or drinks I should avoid since am quite sensitive to caffeine, set myself up to get a good night’s sleep or got proper rest and started running and mainly swimming laps to practice my breathing.

Also an excellent suggestion Mother of Peace. My friend is always talking about “retraining the brain” - getting the connections going in the positive rather than going over the same negative track and making it stronger by feeding into those kind of thoughts. :-)

As far as groceries go - you shouldn’t have to shop at expensive health food stores to find healthy alternatives. Just check out the fruit and vegetable sections at your local market. My parents even started a garden (both indoor and outdoor) when they first married and weren’t bringing in a lot of money. Check out your library and see what is there about health and well being. A friend got me to do this and it really helped.

i would tell myself over and over i was fine and everything was going to be ok. i took many deep breaths. i moved around a lot because i would tense up and feel numb, which also did not help. i was waking up in the middle of the night with them and i couldn’t talk myself down, so the comfort of other helping me calm down also helped.
