is an rca component coupler different than just a rca coupler?

i want to extend my component cables length so i need to know if there is a special coupler for component or any female to female rca coupler will work

The couplers should be the same. Try it and see. If it doesn’t work I was wrong. Then it’s to Radio Shack.

I have the same problem. I just got off the phone with Radioshack and one of the guy said he personally tried it out but it didn’t work, because the signals are different… I don’t see why it still wouldnt work though its cheap to test it out and if it doesn’t work I can always use the RCA couplers for something else…
