Where were you?

Yeah. Actually read that Bible, it’ll turn you into an Atheist in the first few pages.
Come now, dont be so harsh. Just because you dont believe it doesnt mean you have to knock it.
Preaching like this closes more ears than it opens. I dislike it too.
Making it a threat to follow Jesus isnt the best way. I prefer to show what you can gain rather than what you will lose. Just my 2 cents.
I am a hard core Christian but I know others are not, so why force them into my beliefs.
Its not like God keeps a tally of all the converts you made and lets you into heaven based on that.

No different than any other extremists. Well, maybe Buddhist extremists. They just kinda light themselves on fire.
What about the Christian Extremists? Ever met one of them? Far out they scared me.

They stalk me. We’ve discovered this on the site before. I have what Aks calls my Xeno Magnet… if attracts morons and fundies.

I am not an extremist.
This is the same problem the Muslims are having, or so I have been led to believe. The extremists take the word and twist it, casting a negative image on the non-extremists too.
Man I can see why this post was left anon….!
That’s the only reason I can see for people posting them. Unless they really believe it, but are too stupid to see the obvious: that posts like these push more people away than they’ll ever attract.
Exactly. Even in church they say this type of thing helps no one. They mentioned “bullhorn guy”. That guy who gets a bullhorn/megaphone and yells at everyone to come and get Jesus into their life or they would go to the pits of hell.
That is a threat. A death threat in fact. If you don’t believe what I believe, you will die.
For supporting a God of love and forgiveness, they certainly emphasise his bad points. I have done various types of sales and I can tell you beyond the shadow of a doubt that telling people only the bad points of something means no one buys it.
Well… duh.
“Here, buy this car! It has all four wheels, an engine that doesn’t pollute, and massive trunk space!”
“NO! Buy this car! It’s rusted through in nine places, uses small Mexican children as fuel, and has an 80% chance to explode when you turn it on!”
Which would you buy? Does it matter that they’re advertising the same car?
My point is that you have to tell people the WHOLE story, not just the good or just the bad.
Well, I missed that part of what you are saying. Very true. I don’t see bad points because I justify them to myself, but I see what you mean.
Maybe it’s not like buying a car. Maybe it’s like buying a dog. You know that dog is going to chew things up, pee and poop on your rug, and eat up every pair of shoes you own, but you can’t help it you buy it anyways. You get home and you have a responsibility of making sure the dog is loved, walking the dog, and teaching the dog. I believe that it’s one of GOD’s ways of showing us how GOD feels about us. So we didn’t create the dog, but we do have the responsibility to make sure the dog learns right from wrong. I find it very hard to get my dog to do things for me, and even a harder time trying to get a non-christian to listen to my beliefs. I am beginning to realize that I will probably never show anyone the way to GOD. Only GOD himself can do that. I will continue to try and just speak of Jesus because I’m glad I was saved and if you have never heard of Jesus you are missing out on the greatest gift of all. The only way to GOD is through Jesus Chist. I hope GOD Blesses all of us.
