M3u file editing

I was looking at the contents of a playlist file with notepad and noticed that it needs to include the file path, is it possible to make it so that the file path is related to the m3u file location, rather than a direct path as i intend to make portable playlists on a portable HDD with the music file.

For instance, here is a line from the M3u file

g:\Music\The Wombats\A Guide To Love, Loss & Desperation\The Wombats - Kill The Director.mp3

would it be possible to make the drive letter dynamic somehow?

I’ve never done this sort of thing, but I wouldn’t have thought so unless you used some sort of code to change the drive letter.

I aren’t really sure though.

**** - guess its not smart enought hen - i’ll jsut write a program that will get the drive letter of the drive and change it in the m3u file instead then, should be 2 hard

if anyone comes across this - i’ve found a solution - they are automaticlly dynamic, the problem was the playlist was on a different drive to the music, by placing the playlist in the same folder as the music directory you can remove the drive letter leaving the path as

Music\The Wombats\A Guide To Love, Loss & Desperation\The Wombats - Kill The Director.mp3
