Maybe I will, maybe I won’t.
I haven’t really decided.
Since I know that anyone who tells me how to kill myself painlessly, will be disactivated, I just want to hear your reasons for life.
I want you, to explain to me, why I should want to live.
Everyone tells me to either, turn to god, or talk to someone.
For one, I don’t believe in god, and I can’t let myself be vulnerable, so that also beats out talking to someone, because they’ll tell on my, or they won’t care..
I don’t know what I want people to tell me..
I just don’t know.
Love, Marissa

You need to live for the people who care about you. Life is so short and yet so long and there is so much to be experienced. Suicide DESTROYS LIVES. I’m not talking about your life, either. Please don’t do this if you care for anyone even a little bit.
Imagine all the great things you still have to live through. If you do proceed to do this, you will never meet all the wonderful people that are going to come into your life. Even if you feel lonely right now, which is a big problem i am going through, you have so many years to meet so many different people and weed them out to find your true friends. if your in h.s. it doesnt really count ,because i do not talk to anyone i went to highschool with anymore, but i have met some amazing people that do care, and i just wanted to pass it on to you that i want you to experience it. you dont have to believe in god, but believe in something. even if is only yourself. keep your head up, one day you will be happy. even if not today.( i truly feel the same way, just it gets more serious as u get older, and you have so much time to get your act together. talk to a counselor get this thought process taken care of, before it takes care of you.)
okay, i for one think turning to god is no help, not to offend anyone..
but you have so much to live for. all the little things that make you smile now, your family, anyine who loves you, us who are trying to help you.. im sure if you’re going through a rought patch right now, it’ll be over with in time. all you have to do is be strong for yourself. you’ll find love, you’ll meet amazing people, and do some couragous things.. i’ve been through what you’re going through and no one said its fun or easy, but stick it out, you’ll get through with flying colors. look to friends for support especially.. or us =).. dont think you’re worthless.. you were put on this earth for a reason, you have to have something to offer to this world.. something no one can..
That’s a perfectly good question. You don’t have to live if you don’t want to, but many choose to keep going because they have family and friends who care for them. Quote: “why else are we here if not to ease one another’s suffering?”
People turn to God, which to some people sounds a tad strange putting so much faith into something that may not exist. But religion is of the spiritually dimension, therefore meaningful. It is meaning that will give you a reason to carry on. I can’t give you reasons for life, but I can tell you that there is meaning in your life to be fulfilled, and once you fulfill it you will enjoy life alot more than i guess you are currently. What i think you are suffering from is an existential vacuum, or lack of meaning. You don’t see the point anymore. As ‘I love you’ mentions, you have a lot to live for, and many experiences ahead of you, and we only have one shot at life, so why not give it a shot and see where it gets you? if it doesn’t suit you, death is inevitable anyway.
The fact that death is inevitable and that life is limited should be enough motivation for you to stick around and make something of yourself, find meaning in yourself, make an effort to make your mark and most importantly, ease the suffering of those around you. Does that make sense to you?
I’m unsure what to say to you as I’m unaware of your current perspective.
Totally agree with the above. Life is a gift and we only have a short time here so why not live with what we’ve been given and make the most of it. We will meet new people and have a chance to make them happy. I once wanted to kill myself but i realized it would be selfish because I’ll never get the chance to make another person happy

wow..agreed..dont forget about what i said, but wil has a great view on it..
I want you, to explain to me, why I should want to live.
That handprint a man leaves on the wall when he leans down to kiss a girl he loves.
That smile a new baby gets when you tickle her cheek with your hair.
That first taste of fondant from inside the chocolate covered cherries.
That awesome thought that out there somewhere, is the partner of your wildest dreams, just waiting for the day when you will meet. Knowing that whether the relationship works or not, that person will still be there, reminding you how it feels to love and be loved.
The smell of bacon frying on a chilly morning before the sun comes up.
ooh, very nicely stated dragon lady. i was starting to forget about those reasons that life is so precious.
If you can access it, watch this programme. It highlights why living is the only sensible answer…
There is help for depression. There is help for those dark thoughts that overwhelm us, particularly in our youth.
Rejecting that help condemns others to a lifetime of darkness. Please watch Michael Portillo’s very moving programme.

well put..and also agreed..and i LOVE bacon.so yea..a good reason to live..
also, anything that puts a smile on your face is worth living.. never take that for granted..
don’t do it dear, don’t give up on yourself.
the little things make life meaningful. laughing with your friends, the taste of fresh fruit, coffee in the morning.
Don’t believe the lie that suicide is a way out, some cure-all for your problems, its really not, it just creates more problems.
Life may seem mundane and boring from time to time, but it really is exciting. why are we here darling? what is our purpose? you said you doubt God, (or anything), so how did we get here and who is right? life is a great mystery to be explored.
there are so many wonderful things to enjoy and to see here on earth.
its hard, i know. but i can tell you that ive been where you are now. Counseling changed my life, and saved it. Life is worth everything. Without life there is nothing. Its the kind of void that can be thought of as a very deep dreamless sleep. Your not aware of anything, because there is nothing.
You’ve got stuff to live for!
Your an intelligent beautiful young lady.
I’m sure you have a bright future ahead of you.
You have the adventure of finding out who you are on deeper level.
You have a whole world to explore.
And I know this is corny, but you have to find your soul mate. Someone your able to share deep things about yourself with.
You must choose life over death. the will to live is a powerful force.
Please talk to someone close by, anyone. You really need to get some feelings off of your chest, to unlock yourself, so to speak. The person who is contemplating suicide is not the person that has reached out, the one who wants to live…..
And that person is you my dear, the real girl
Keep living,
Love,
STG
reasons to live?
sunlight catching the morning dew
hummingbirds
puppies
every day with your baby, watching them grow up and being part of it
the genuine joy of a child’s laugh
the look of pride on a grandparent’s face
a cold sunny winter’s day
sunshowers
more?
because you have a future ahead of you. If you killed yourself its just one less person in competition in the world. People will cry but then youll just start to get forgotten, memories will fade and you wont be there any more, do you really want that to happen??
