I have a french essay due tomorow about roles of the family.
I need rough ideas for roles of the family in society then i can try and out them into french.

yea i have but its coming up with what i expected, really complex things using sociological views and idealogies which i cant really use in a french essay.

The family offers security, support, nurturing and mentoring. You are first “socialized” by your family. You get your values from your family–at least initially. Unfortunately, kids today get their values from the “media culture,” which often eclipses the parents as imbuers of values.

Your family members are supposed to be your closest, most trustworthy allies. They are supposed to stand by you, whether you are right or wrong. They may tell you that you are wrong, but they should never desert or abandon you.

Extended families used to take care of all of their members, including infirm and aged family members. Now, our smaller “nuclear” families warehouse aged relatives in nursing homes.

We’ve gotten worse, instead of better.
