for everyone who listens to indie, alternative rock, emoy music.
I have a friend and he’s my best friend, and his birthday is on wensday, and i want to get him some music. the problem is he has just about everything under the sun. here are some of the bands he listens too: The Spill Canvas, Kill Hannah, Bayside (he loves them), Blink 182, Alkaline Trio, We Shot the Moon, Mayday Parade, The Apathy Eulogy, Danger Is My Middle Name, Motion City Soundtrack, and like 100 others that most people havn’t ever heard of. Can you think of any bands like these that he might not have heard of that are really good? He gave me The Promise of Redemption for my birthday a few months ago and i need something just as meaning full to give. Any ideas at all? i’ll be stealing his i-pod on monday or tuesday to make sure he doesn’t have it yet. so any ideas would be great!

What about For Love of Ivy? They have a couple of albums,
Skyfox is great, I don’t believe they have an album out yet though.
How about Fall Out Boy? Finger Eleven, Queens of the Stone Age, Rise Against, Three Days Grace, Billy Talent, Marianas Trench, illScarlett, Sum41, Ten Second Epic, Interpol, The Used, Alexisonfire, The Redjumpsuit Apparatus, like that kinda thing?
Alright, because not a lot of people know about them, they are still fairly local.
Here, I’ll keep listing bands, I’ll keep it to the lesser known bands though.

Title and artist?
I think some suggestions have strayed a bit from the indie, alternative, emo post.

Really? like who? I consider most of these bands alternative.
Finger Eleven, Rise Against, Nickleback, Black Eyed Peas, Maroon 5 etc
The Fold sound really good!
If it’s good music, does it really matter? Especially since I named all those?

I would consider them all except Rise against alternative, and Rise against is amazing, so they get a free pass.
I suppose not, I was just referring to the post.
humbug11 was looking for indie, alternative or emo that their friend had not heard of.
those bands are well known in North America.
Again,

I could name a couple bands nobody knows, but wouldn’t fit unless you consider Ska alternative.
Thanks. Lol

Spiralfrog has Rise Against!! Whoo!!!
What is Spiralfrog?
Spiralfrog.com is a free legal download site, where I get most of my music.
www.xfmscotland.co.uk or just xfm.co.uk (London)
are sites where I hear the music. If you’re a member of the site you can get special offers like the last two I got from them….
The new Coldplay CD downloaded free
The new Charlatans CD downloaded free
don’t expect to hear much of the bands I listed above. these are alternative stations
I live in Canada too.
I live in Colorado, basically canada right? Haha. Just joking, and Spiral frog won’t work for me, I don’t have XP or Vista.
erm, I dunno.
I did suggest it, knowing people here are in North America.

What do you have?
Nah, I don’t use it for anything other than Itunes and a few websites.
Cool, then. I just my laptop, so for 800 dollars (that’s with taxes) I got a built in webcam, Vista, Windows Media Player and a whole bunch of stuff I haven’t even discovered yet. Not a bad deal, if I do say so myself.
if you want real class…try Apocalyptica
3 cellos and drums doing classical to heavy metal (Metallica)
What about the Red Hot Chili Peppers?
(I’m just going through what’s on my computer.)
I know they’re really popular, but I think they sound the same all the time.
I need the bands to change tempo, style and sound to keep my interest
I have a lot of “Various Artists” cds, so I wouldn’t know. Oh, these two I just like their names. Death Cab for Cutie (and) Get Cape Wear Cape Fly.
yep, Get Cape Wear Cape Fly is great. His name is Sam Duckworth and he’s also know as:
Get Cape, Cape, GCWCF, Slam Dunkworth, Shrimpy, Captain Sandwich, Super Sam and “Charlie Khoo”
anyway, bed time. got physio early tomorrow.
have a good night!
