Hi I’m a girl and i was wondering if any of you ladies ever had kids whos cycle was irregular?

Because I read that females with irregular cycles find it hard to conceive and me and my boyfriend are trying for one. We been trying since march of this year and still no luck, we are hoping to hear that there is a possibility that even females with irregular cycles can get pregnant without fertility drugs or doctors help. Any Help Would be Good Thanks

You may be trying to hard, as they say. Sometimes it’s when you stop trying that it happens.

I would start with getting the cause of your irregular cycles diagnosed if you haven’t already. Once you have an actual medical diagnosis, then you can start figuring out if there are special steps you should be taking to help you get pregnant.

My sister had a period only a few times a year, always very light when she did have it, and she is now 6 months pregnant! So I wouldn’t worry too much, irregular cycles are very common.

Are you keeping a chart on your menstrual cycle? This will help you determine when you are ovulating.

that doesn’t work with irregular periods.

Yes may be true. But if she goes to see a doctor they will more than likely ask her to do a chart on her menstrual cycle to see how irregular her periods are. I only know because when I was trying to conceive it was the first thing they asked me to do. :)

I don’t think they ever made my sister keep a chart. She was diagnosed with polycystic ovarian syndrome years ago and is trying to conceive. She’s been using the tempurature method to find out when she’s actually ovulating.

While this is very common even amongst women who have no fertility problems it should be checked out by a doctor because in general, ovulation disorders such as PCOS represent the most common female infertility causes, and an irregular period may indicate this.
