I am giving up and becomming a Hermit
Life is SOOOOOOO stressful! I’m taking 18 credit hours and working 25 hours a week. I can’t keep up with my homework, or my bills. Things just keep getting more expensive everyday. I spend so much time trying to learn to juggle everything, that I never get to see my family or friends anymore. After spending alot of time weighing my options, I’ve decided that the best way to fix it all is to become a hermit. I will be moving into my freshly decorated cave tomorrow. I will be collecting non-perishable food today to last me through the winter and will plant a garden next Spring. Additionally, as much as I love the little animals, I will have to take up hunting (sorry Bambi). No more bills, no more job, no more homework. Just me and my cave.

Where were you?
You can also watch events on Help.com as they happen
I will, and all are welcome to join me (but you have to get your own caves).
Sounds realy great. You have restared a new old fashioned way to live. I like my comfort far to much these days to follow suite.
As Alpha Knight says, go for it.

But i don’t think u should really give up like that…mabey just shrink ur todo-list down a little?

will u go visit ur family and friends?
Perhaps, then I can be a travelling hermit.
Sounds like a novel idea! I’ll take the cave to the left and I’m going to look into some solar power :)
Yes! Solar power to charge my computer. Oh, and Thep, I have a newly remodeled cave complete with internet access and a shiny, round green door.

you should see if you can find a cave with a hot spring in it or something, then you could have water and water power :)
you know if you started out with a few other people you could make a little community and live kinda like the indians did
Oooh yeah, a hot spring and internet access, perfect!
Nice idea country girl. A hydroelectric cave. The hot spring would be *very* nice. As for the community of hermits, Miss Enigma is my neighbor and you are welcome to join us.

it would be so nice if there was a place like hobbit town around…*sighs* it would be perfect
hot spring? hydro electricity?
nice.
so what, joining the transcendentalists?
Mmmmmm… berries… Thanks for the word of advice Alpha Knight. I will also watch out for the mushrooms ;)
Yes, and he’s very supportive. Apparently caves have great acoustics.
Should become an eskamo this way you can ice fish and live life all nice in warm in a house made of ice, the government tax that one!
Two words: Global Warming. My house would probably melt. Better to stay with the traditional stone structure of Hermit homes.
I feel for you. I really do. Perhaps in some small way ,I can be of help. I am starting a web site, the “International Association of Hermits” It is my goal to become the voice for all hermits,shut-ins,wall-flowers ,the withdrawn, the disengaged, the lost, the forlorn, the recluse, the introvert. Let me hear from you
Yay! Mlesser is starting a hermit support group!
I have just the website for ya. If in fact you are a hermit, a true hermit You need, you must visit hermitcentral.com and hermithaven.wordpress.com HERMITS DON”T MASS PROTEST
Cave living. Been there done that. Only thing I missed was toilet paper and clean-fresh pillow and pillow case.
I don’t blame you. Can you evade taxes and stuff? Sounds like the ideal retreat. You’ve obviously had this in mind for a while and congratulations for carrying it through.Better than living in a rented house/flat dependent on working/the government
it’s not a bad life
FUNNY!! I have been at that point too. It’s not a fun feeling, but when this stressful time is over, you’ll look back and say, “****, I made it.”….Then just get ready for the next few bumps. I’m looking forward to retirement - in about 23 more years :)
is your cave in the middle of the desert? if so, you can be like Ben Kenobi! (But first find two blue lightsabers and grow a beard!) ;)
Wow, this is sooo great. Im in the process of needing to distant myself from all the BS too. All the falseness and negativity! I just want to grow veggies and enjoy my family. Bring myself back to the earth and her bounty everywhere! Thanks for sharing!!
