The marvelous subject of drugs.
My friend used to be real heavy into drugs. You know, the real drugs, heroin, pills, everything. Shes talking about starting again. How can I prevent her from letting history repeat itself?

Reminder why she stopped in the first place.
Other than that, there is not much you can do, just make sure you dont become an enabler.
i agree….talk to her and explain that she stopped for a reason and that it will end up ruining her life or killing her…. i mean alot of people have the occasional smoke of some thing they shouldn’t, but as long as it recreational and not a habit its cool… but in the case of hard drugs like that, which are highly addictive and dangours then u should do every thing u can to stop
Heroin is hell with withdrawals… You’re lucky to get through that with your sanity.
Pills… I knew a kid. His name was Chris, but everyone called him Oxy-cotton-tails, because he was so hooked on oxycodone. He’d randomly blurt out really stupid things like, “Purple is a vegetable”.” and, “Whoa, THAT’s a Frank Sinatra.” We laughed, of course, but we all knew he was messed up. I left that city, and haven’t seen him since. I recently heard from the friend through which I met Oxy, however. Apparently, Oxy’s out of rehab now, after being in for ten months. He’s still f**ked up in the head. What people don’t seem to understand is that when you’re abusing prescription drugs, you’re usually doing it for a side-effect, not what the drug is for. Of course, it doesn’t matter WHY you take them, they still do the same thing they’re supposed to. Many of the common pills that people abuse, like Ritalin and Adderall, are made to treat psychological disorders. (Admittedly mild disorders, but nevertheless psychological.) The drugs change certain things in the people they’re prescribed, to to make them “normal”. However, if you’re already normal, they’ll still change the way your brain works, and make you… well, insane.
See, I actually have ADD. I can’t get high of of many of the pills out there, in fact most chemicals period don’t work right on me, because my body chemistry is different. On someone like me, those pills help you focus, calm you down, and keep you from letting yourself act like an idiot. On someone else… they do just the opposite. They make you loopy, give you a “speed”-like high, and d*mn-near ensure that you’ll act like an idiot. The “painkiller” side-effect that people tend to take these drugs for, is merely a side effect that only works when you’re not ADD/ADHD.
Now the killer. See, over time, these drugs make it possible for people to completely control their ADD/ADHD. However, in others, who aren’t supposed to use these drugs, it warps them. Compare it to a man taking estrogen pills, or a non-smoker slapping on a bunch of nicotine patches. It’s not healthy. Only, instead of messing up your body, this messes up your brain.
I know I’ve rambled a bit, but it’s not easy to explain all that I know on these subjects without getting really technical and boring the hell out of people. Ask me if you need clarification on anything.

Carry her to a Drug Rehab to see other people trying to get off Drugs
Carry her to a Cementary to see where she will end up at
Mainly show her love and let her know Christ

Show her brainwashing.
Drag her to a cultist institution to see a religious official and force her to talk with him.
Side note: try to scare her with rehab and threats of her own death,
But mostly, try to convert her while she’s weak!

Such hate almost sounds like you belong to a religion all your own.
But seriously, as an atheist my self, I never understood such strong feelings toward religions in general. Especially when for some people they can and have helped with situations such as this.
I don’t hate any religion. I respect them all greatly, believe it or not. However, there’s something called common sense that should tell people when to keep their god to themselves. Oh, right. It’s in the TOU as well.

Wow are we that paranoid that one can’t even suggest religion as a course of action in this situation, when it can and has helped people in the past?
I have a hard time believing you respect religion when you attack religious views based only on their suggestion of help.
And why should people keep their god to themselves and fear being lambasted simply by stating their view points? You do live in the same country I do, where we have a freedom to state our opinions freely and with out free of reprisal. Or does that right not extend to religious people.
Further still why is not ok for feingram to state her opinion about religion; but its ok for you to state your opinion on her religion (that it is tantamount to brainwashing)? That seems like a double standard to me. If she should keep her god to her self, you should keep your loathing of her god to your self.
I’m just following the rules of the site. If you want to believe that I hate any particular faith, that’s your prerogative. You’d be wrong, but you’re allowed to be.
The rules of the sight are to berate anyone who makes mention of their faith?
The rules are clear. The FAQ section 19 and the TOU point out that you’re not supposed to bring up religion unless it’s expressly asked for.

If you say so. but how does that excuse your attack of this person?
