just yesterday morning i had my dark blonde hair a lighter blonde, at the hairdresser.

i ended up with a mess of orange/yellow/white. it tooks truly tacky and i don’t even want to leave the house to go to school with it; i am that embarrassed and self-conscious. i am glad i had it done, because i know i wouldn’t be happy if i hadn’t tried, but at the moment it just looks yuck.

can i use a wash-out colour that lasts ten days to make it champagne blonde, or even a lot darker? just to hide the colour til it grows out? will this mess up my hair, and how will it if so?

my semiformal is on thursday, i don’t want to do anything worse to it

xx

It sounds like you need a toner.

Read this, it should explain a lot:

http://www.style-hair-magazine.com/ha…

When this happened to me I went to Sally’s Beauty Store and bought one of their colors. I believe the brand was Ion. It was amazing! I mixed it with a 20 volume developer and also added in a color corrector. If you have a Sally’s near you, go there and check it out. They sell these tiny little tubes of color corrector that are $.99 cents I believe. They work wonders.

I went through a lot of that when I went and got my hair done, professionally.. especially when I was light blonde. Eventually my mom just started dying my hair and we never had one of those problems again.

Is the orange at the top? (Like root area) If so, it’s because they didn’t get lightened enough. They probably didn’t leave the dye on long enough. I hope you didn’t pay? Or at least got some type of discount?

Color correctior is usually some type of liquid you mix in with your dye. They have ones for taking out brassy colors, one that tones, one that takes out unwanted red, etc. I’m pretty sure these ones I’m talking about are only found at Sally’s.

Toners (are a little bit of the same) but usually are only used for lighter hair colors, such as blonde. They’re usually a light blue or light purple powder that you mix up with your volume developer.
(Have you ever saw a bleaching kit? It comes with this ..just for example.)

I’m almost positive you can buy toners at drug stores or department stores. I was just mentioning Sally’s because they were cheap.

I didn’t even realize she said $80.
What would that be in US dollars? Or is it the same?

Here, you can go to a local SmartStyle (Walmart) and it’s really quite cheap. Years ago I got my hair bleached and re-dyed for about $40.
It does depend on where you go as well though. More experienced and professional places are going to charge more..
