Help me choose:

I’ve been offered a job 2 states away, near family. It’s 20k less annually. I have a mortgage on my current residence and can’t sell due to market conditions, so would have to rent. I’m up for a promotion with my current job after the new year. The catch, I don’t like my current job, though financially it is the smart choice. Should I stay or should I go?

Go to where you’ll enjoy it more. If you don’t like your job now, how are you going to feel working there in another years time?

How strong is your need to be closer to your family ? Is that an issue ?

Your house thats under mortgage, can be rented out to appropriate tennants who have references of course. It wouldn’t be advisable to sell it right now.
