You don’t say how old you are, but regardless of age, a guy should NEVER push a girl to do anything physically that she’s not prepared to do, and that includes kissing. You decide when you’re ready for that, and don’t let him belittle you for your decision. If he does, then you should move on.

If you want to kiss him do so. If you don’t, you don’t. No need to tender an excuse one way or the other. If he thinks differently of you because of one missing kiss, you really don’t want to kiss that type of boy anyhow. Keep searching.
