Thought help: I thought I pulled a muscle in my thigh, but after a couple days - Help.com

I thought I pulled a muscle in my thigh, but after

a couple days of limping around trying not to strain it even further, I noticed a pain in my knee and calf area. It’s been a couple of days and the pain is now flunctuating in my entire leg(thigh to lower calf) Any idea why this is going on? And how I can get the pain to go away? It hurts like crazy!

I’m no doctor, so I can’t help you. That’s what you need, though, a doctor. IF you want the pain to end, that’s where you need to head.

It’s probable that since you’ve been limping, you’re using your muscles in a way that they’re not used to being used so the muscles that are compensating for you trying NOT to use your thigh are now starting to feel sore from overuse.

your muscles tightened up because even when u pull a a muscle it is very important to stretch and not let it tighten up because thats what led to ur further injury ur body became use to not using those muscles u let tighten up and now its reacting in such that the injury is now worse u should go see a doctor but since it always takes time to schedule appointments try to stretch and loosen the muscles a lil bit while ur waiting for an an appointment.

as most have said, I’m no doctor, but I’m no stranger to injury either. In fact, about a month ago I pulled the muscle in my upper leg and it seemed to help when I put a heating pad on it for a few minutes. of course, the absolute best thing that you can do is consult a doctor and stretch it out, but you could try a heating pad. it relaxes the muscle and warms it up, making it easier to stretch without injury. don’t use the heating pad too long if you do use one though. that could make the injury worse.

ella reminded me dont forget to use RICE
(Rest, Ice for ten minutes, Compress, Heat for ten minutes) u can ice for longer but after ten minutes it doesnt take any affect and make sure u ice before u heat bacause the cold makes ur veins contract and when u add the heat it makes ur veins expand bringing a rush of blood that helps to heal ur injury u can do the same with juz heat, but its not as good as iceing first
