anybody who knows Excel…

So basically, I just got an assignment from my boss, and she wants me to re-format an e-mail attachment. When you click on the attachment, it is a whole lot of information on Excel. I am suppose to format it to fit all on one page…. I am not sure how to though…
any thoughts?

Well, there ya go.
So it must have been a spreadsheet that had to be adjusted to fit on a page. Is that possible?

It’s hard to tell you how to do it without actually seeing what is there. You could try changing the orientation, like printing it landscape if prints normally in portrait, or reducing the font size. Or you might have to go as far as moving the data around, like removing blank rows or columns.

yeah, this is what I have tried so far:

changed font to smaller size
pulled all the rows together as close as possible
changed the print page to lanscape from portrait.

it still doesn’t fit… and yes its a very ladrge spreadsheet….

I don’t knowww…

How about change the margins to the smallest size and print it on legal size paper?

Follow these instruction for Excel 2007

1) Click “Print”
2) Click “Preview”
3) Click “Page Setup”
4) Click “Fit to 1 page(s) wide by 1 tall”

If you don’t have version 2007 of Excel, they all have a similar feature called “Preview” / “Page Setup” that will allow you to instruct the document to automatically fit the contents of the document into a single page.

I did that, and it worked… the only problem is that the font is REALLY tiny

Then there is just too much information to fit on one page I’m afraid.

My suggestion would be to print it as per the instructions above on “Fit to 1 page(s) wide by 1 tall” but then also try “Fit to 2 page(s) wide by 1 tall” and just play around with those settings until you find a format she’s happy with. The more you increase the number of pages width/height by, the more legible the font will be.

If you leave the “tall” blank, the formatting will span multiple pages but retain the width. You can freeze the titles if you like.
