ok, so my girlfriend, is a great girl, but…

i am very concerned for her, yesterday night, i took her out to dinner, and we had calamari which she has never tried and Alfredo and chicken pasta with peppers and broccoli, so first of all, she told me that she has panic attacks her body flips and it always passes she said that she calls it the dead feeling, she feels as if she doesn’t exists or isn’t alive, and she said that when she gets a panic attack that feeling is magnified a thousand times, she said that she feels the normal dead feeling every day. well i understand this, as i too have felt this and most every day feel this, however unlike her i have found a way to meditate and center myself, me and her are completely on the same wavelength and on the same page we see things the same, which is great and which is why for the most part i understand what she is going through, however i really care for her and i don’t want her to feel this dead feeling i want her to feel alive, my methods for curing myself do not work for her so what should i do? oh and back to the dinner date, so she ate about three pieces of calamari and then had an episode the first i have seen, she flipped out, her hands started shaking, her breathing became ragged, and she said her hearing was diminished and she got hot flashes, as i care for her and have never seen this level of attack it scared me and freaked me out which in turned freaked her out worse, she ended up getting over it after about two hours, my question is, with a panic attack how do you nip it in the bud, is there a way for me to, if she has another one, to somehow cancel out her attack eliminate it altogether? i want her to be ok, and happy, and it is very upsetting for me to see her suffer like that, is there anything that i can give her, or say or do when she has an attack to nullify it? oh and before we ate dinner she had only had a huge cup of coffee, milk, and a mini chocolate pundit cake the whole day as sustenance, she said when she drinks coffee her appetite is suppressed which i believe is one of the main causes for the attack, she said it might have been that she hadn’t eaten anything and that the first thing in her stomach was grease which is bad, so yeah any ideas or hints on how i can help her in case this happens again, in case she gets a panic attack please tell me i hate seeing her suffer.

well, when i had panic attacks i can’t have people touching me and such because i feel like i can’t breathe. what helped me was just someone being there. me knowing they were there helped. but i had to talk myself out of them. i had to take deep breaths and keep telling myself that i was ok, and i wasn’t dying, and that everything was going to be ok.

what helps me is if womeone just keeps on chatting to me normally about something really stupid like the weather or something stupid that happened at work, it’ll be difficult for you to stay calm an keep talking calmly but she might calm down quicker.

Has she seen a doctor at all? One of my friend has panic attacks as well & see takes vitamins which has helped her to relax and lessen her attracts. You’re girlfriend’s body could be trying to tell her that it’s missing some type of nutrients is a possibility. I think my friend takes B12. Hope this helps.

ok so update, she said that her body is used to having only coffee in the morning and that if she tries to eat something solid she will puke, i think its really bad that she literally goes 6-7 hours without food and only coffee, any way for her to get her body unused to having just coffee and able to handle food in the morning?
