marriage help: I am at a loss. - Help.com

I am at a loss.

My wife (of 6 years) and I are trying to cope with an abusive 12yo. he has caused my wife to be taken to the hospital 3 times and me 1 time (plus the week I will be in for the surgury to correct my injuries). We are getting little to no assistance from anyone. The local police have yet to write a report. Because most parents won’t persue the case(we will). Hospitalisaton for the child has not helped(he sufers from and is being treated for 3 disorders)counseling is of no help(no feedback, they listen to his stories and look at us like were the problem). He was in a group home attacked 2 people in the group home so he was sent back to live with mom and dad and his younger brother.
This child idolises his absent father whom he watched attempt to murder his mother (he suffers from PTSD for this)yet defends his father because mom did that to herself to get back at dad (this happened after they were divorced, he was drunk and broke into her house to attack her).
My wife and I are at our wits end we have tried to get his father to let the child live with him and his reply is”you can’t force me to take him”. Yet he tells the child that we wont let him go live with his dad. Guess who the kid listens to not us. We need our peace neither of us have slept in several days and it has gone beyond affecting our lives.

Well update. about an hour after posting this her son attacked her again he is in the hospital. My wife is at home with 2 nice bruises on her head (one on her face with a small cut). The police actualy wrote a report this time, found an understaning officer. So later today My wife is going to the courts to press charges against her own son. In an attempt to get him the help he so needs, the only way we have found to get him into the system is if the courts find him to be a threat to others. This will be his second documented assult against his mother and were trying to get his assult against me documented, (very helpfull police officer is going to see what can be done about that due to me just getting out of the hospital from it)

I’m glad someone is helping you now. I’m soryr you have to deal with this, but you are amazing parents to hang in there and keep trying.
