I have two children, have been going through custody cases all my adult life, this is my fifth case.
My oldest daughter father gained custody of my oldest not due to me doing anything wrong but he took her from me, kept her from me, and was able to afford a lawyer. He has done this three different times to me. Unfortunetly I don’t have the abilities to get a lawyer and that is the reason he gained custody. Now he is working with my youngest daughter’s father. I had custody of her up until a few months ago due to the fact he took her, would not allow me to see her or talk to her, and filed a custody case against me. Now for a temporary basis we have 50/50 custody, he has her half the month and I have her the other half the month. He would of got full custody because he tried to keep the case from me but I found out about it at the last minute. I had no lawyer for the hearing due to not having time to find one and really can’t afford to spend thousands of dollars on one but proved he was not a good father, I even showed a picture of my 3 year old child drinking beer and he still got half the time. My life is my children and my youngest daughters father wanted nothing to do with my child to begin with, it took him six months before he entered into her life and that was due to me pushing it because I believed my child had the right to know who her father was. I was very kind to him because I couldn’t see putting someone through what I have been through with my oldest daughter’s father. He only paid 150 a month in child support and if him or his mother wanted extra time I would give it due to the fact I had her all the time and until she starts school she could get a little extra time with her other side because once she starts school extra time would not be possible. And yet both of the men use lies to get what they want. I want to keep custody of my youngest and later gain custody of my oldest. Neither father really takes care of my children they push it on the girls they are with. So, can anyone tell me what I should do at this point. I don’t live in TX where the cases is so I can’t get legal aid and can’t afford the amount attorneys want. Does anyone have any advice on what to do or what they did in there custody cases.
