HELP with Tess of the D’Urbervilles!

i’m doing AS english and we’ve been studying this book but i have to make notes on the symbolism of water that is present throughout the novel but i cant remember any other than when there is the flood in the lane and Angel has to carry Tess across. Any idea anyone? Thanks ;)

Perhaps they thought of the scene when Tess is christening her child before its death. I try to think of something else where water is involved and I’ll write again.

Another one I can think of is the vast ocean which is between Tess and Angel when he goes away. Pity that I read the book 2 years ago not quite recently. I still try to think of other details. I’m glad if I could help a little, Eve
