oh my, this is a complicated question.. it is more about the experience than the description
Well it depends on the car, but you can kind of “feel” when you need to switch gears. You can hear the engine making too many revolutions for its power (it gets higher in pitch).
push in the clutch, put it in gear, push on the gas and go, at ~10 mph, move to 2nd, 30 move to 3rd, 40 4th, 50 5th, etc
those are approximate… that’s when my old clunker wanted me to switch gears anyway
It can’t really be described well if you can’t be shown how, but you can listen to the gears shift on an automatic transition to get a feel for when the shifts are timed.
How old is the car you’re talking about, who manufactured it, and how’s it’s condition?
Because I hear that you can go up to 60mph in 1st gear in a new ferrari :)
wow.. this was an 89 toyota tercel!!! I don’t drive it anymore
yah… my ‘90 ford festiva shifted at about the same places as susie’s.
well im not diving stick, im just curious
when your rpms are really high you push the pedal on the very left, and you switch to the next gear and let that pedal out slowley so its a smooth shift. try typing in shifting manuel cars in youtube. do u know anybody with a munuel car ask them its is not embarssing.
haha. lol. question to ask your car. usually when approaching traffic lighs or turning round corners or speeding up and stuff. but dont trust me coz im only learning in a really old car my dads girlfriend gave me for a while coz she just bought a new one./ anyways.
and its the only stick i know of. im gonna drive automatic anyway. way better
yeah im probably going to stick with auto, but my dad drives stick and he tried to explain it, but he didnt do such a good job
it is fun at times, though if you get stuck in stop and go traffic… the fun wears off after a few minutes of shifting!
lol. my dad made me change gears in the passenger seat before i got behind the wheel. thats a bit scary coz u dont know wen hes clutching
lol, i counted how many times he shifted from a stop light to another….lets just say there was a lot of moving
yea. its lyk 4 3 2 3 2 1 2 3 4 3 4 3 2 1 i tink one time
sweet thanks
