I want to date a girl at school, but I’m stuck in the friend zone.

I’ve already asked her before, but it was over 6 months ago. I heard from a friend of hers that she doesn’t want to date me in case we break up, and we ruin our friendship, but I think that us already getting on really well shows that we could last. How can I convince her that dating her won’t ruin our friendship?

Well the friend zone is a dangerous place and hard one to get out of but if you show how much fun you two can have while dating and how good you will be to her and reassuring her that you two will still be friends if it doesn work out than it should work

I’m gonna say something a bit harsh, so please do not be offended. She might have said that she didn’t want to go out with you because it might ruin your friendship as an excuse not to hurt your feelings if she just didn’t like you in that way. Of course, it might not be the case, and I hope it isn’t, I just thought I’d give you my opinion, because I gave the same excuse once :P

No offence taken, liv_192, I thought the same thing when she first said no, but I’m not so sure now. A couple of her friends have mentioned that it’s the friendship issue . . . though obviously only she knows what she really thinks.

elusive_creature - Thanks, I haven’t been using her friend to talk to her though, but I have been asking her for her advice. Her friend’s known her for years, she probably knows her best.

jenna - I was thinking about having a talk with her tomorrow, it’s just getting the right moment to do it, and getting a second opinion (which I came here for). I think I will talk to her, there doesn’t seem to be any other way to find out if she genuinely doesn’t want to date me or it’s the friendship issue.
