can women be engineers?

I was planning on majoring in engineering, however my roomates mom said that women arent as good as men in engineering because women’s brains are wired differently. Is this true?

women make wonderful engineers.

no. I know female engineers. But I could give you a million reasons why men may be better at it. Do what you feel is right. stop listening to other people.

strength has nothing to do with it for engineers.
it’s more about thinking and coming up with solutions

tradesmen are the ones who put engineer’s ideas into action

To answer your question, not necessarily. It comes down to if you’re a down-to-earth person who can focus on issue after issue. I’m sure that if you are, you would be very capable. However, consider that the majority of engineers now are men. If you need the company of other women at work, then you’re just going to have a tougher time finding your niche. If you’re self sufficient, then go ahead and think about engineering.

Mind you, there are several fields of engineering available and it’s not like all fields are the same. Some of them might have more women in them, like in biomedical engineering or architectural engineering… at least where I went to school.

Women are supreme court judges, brain surgeons, scientist, truck drivers, and oh now run for President. Uh yeah, I think so.

If you are really really smart (don’t want bridges, buildings, and satellites falling down), tons of calculus and physics, logical with minimal emotional confusion, willing to work very hard often long hours. Then I highly suggest you consider Engineering.

Of Course!

And there might be more argument for the fact that women are socialized differently than wired differently.
